It seems distance has ceased to bother mankind. You can exchange letters and your thoughts with someone, despite thousands of miles separating you, in a matter of few seconds, if you so desire. The wonders of today's communications, or means of it, have taken enormous proportions, not to mention those of information technology. Whoever said that the world is shrinking day by day couldn't have been more true. As the twilight years of the last century came to an end, it became a more confirmed assertion.

Communication is making that happen. As always, necessity is the cornerstone of all newer discoveries and inventions. The latest in the electronic media being the much talked about and advocated INTERNET. If you've heard the word, its only natural. Special features on Internet dailies, magazines and the overall media have made it virtually impossible to get off the mark upheld as a phenomenon. Internet is being referred to as the ultimate in electronic democracy.
All you need to tap this marvelous reservoir of information sounds incredible - a telephone line, a modem computer and an Internet connection. And what can you do ? Well, exchange letters and thoughts is just the tip of the iceberg. Much more ! You can scan scientific articles, see advertisements at your will, do shopping, select tourist spots in Australia with ideal boarding and lodging places, information on travel guides sitting here in India, enjoy jokes, movies, in this no holds barred means of communication. Time is not far when Internet access will be available through cable network.
