1. (a) Discuss how multimedia can be used for the following application areas :

(i) Website of any Advertisement agency.

(ii) Website of any Educational Institution.

(b) What is QuickTime? Who developed this product? Discuss the importance of this product and how does it work.

(c) Discuss the following types of authoring tools along with their purpose of use:

(i) Time-based

(ii) Icon-based

(iii) Theatrical-based

(iv) Card-based

2. (a) "Some hypertext systems have built-in programming languages, so that one can customize the system to one's specific needs." With the help of an example product, illustrate the features. 5

(b) Discuss the following examples of multimedia pedagogues:

(i) Computer-based CD tutors

(ii) Applet-based practicals (simulations)

3. Explain, how the following multimedia components are created and how are these used in E-learning applications:

(i) Pictures/Photographs

(ii) 3-D Graphics

(iii) Audio

(iv) Digital Video

4. Define the term "storyboard" in the context of multimedia project. Mention the features of it and also design simple storyboard template for any instance of an application of your choice.

5. Describe the following file formats and mention the related s/w through which we can work with them:

(i) AVI

(ii) JPG

(iii) MOV

(iv) PCX

(v) WAV
